can i send binary memory streams to vb6 controls(ie. picturebox) ? can i use it with ADO for vb6 instead of ADO .net? I'm trying to send a binary file to memory from a resource file or a database as it source and then send it to a vb control, like this support.microsoft.com/kb/317701

so i guess i found my answer.
the picture box componet in .net is completely different than vb6.
it uses the system calls from mscorlib.dll like FromStream ToStream
to read /write a file or a stream in bytes and load it into memory
...................................................................................................
Now... does any one knows how to implement : StreamReader StreamWriter BinaryReader BinaryWriter
into a custom control?

so you may ask...why vb6 and not just do it in .net
I dont want to be dependant of .net The problem is that vb6 controls do not know how to handle ADO stream or memory streams....and i dont want to write to a file to then read the file..

Hello there, Well, there would have been a way to convert a byte array to a picture in memory for you, but I found a bug in the VBCorLib code. So, I did a search and found someone else's code snippet that should do what you want. www.vbforums.com/showthread.php?t=493209I hope this helps, Kelly
